I LOVE ZOMBIELAND!!
It is hilarious. It is really hard for me to watch movies because I prefer my entertainment in 60- or 30- minute bites. Hard for me to sit still for 2 hours. But I wanted Zombieland to keep going!! It makes me want to rewatch Night of the Comet. Here are just some of the reasons to watch:
- Woody Harrelson
- Newcomer and poor man’s Michael Cera, Jesse Eisenberg
- Emma Stone
- Abigail Breslin
- Bill Murray as himself!!
- It is campy in a good way
- Twinkie motif (AND an appearance from my beloved Snowballs)
- Guns guns guns
- Amusement Park Scene
- Hummer and Escalade with #3 painted on the doors
- Prominence of lists of rules. I like lists of rules. Double tap, Fasten Your Seatbelt, Check the back, Enjoy the little things….what were the other rules Shane?
- Happy ending. You know I am a sucka.

Watched that Friday and was pleasantly surprised. My only problem with it was the forced, repeated catch phrase “nut-up…” Seemed like they were trying too hard with that. That and a few plot problems, otherwise very entertaining. The Bill Murray part is great.
yes we had to accept that suspension of disbelief began with the zombie theme and included the “where does the gas/power/water come from when clearly phones and internet are not available”
plus, how were all the roads so clear? moving 1 car per 100 miles? not realistic at all! I’m just glad the Intimidator got a big shout out!! i TOTALLY thought of you, Carlos, when he painted that #3 on the Hummer.
and yes, “Nutup or shutup” is obnoxious/stoopid/lame
i prefer HOW YA LIKE ME NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I’ve said before, and I kinda feel sorry for him except that he probably lives a much more charmed existence than I so I don’t really, but the guy who plays the main character is pretty much a second-rate Michael Cera.
POOR MAN’S MICHAEL CERA!!!! (carlos, have you been skimming again?)
Did you say that too? I swear I’m pretty sure I independently had the same thought, though that might be what anyone thinks who’s seen him in anything.
